AVENGERS CHARTER (1982)

1982 wurde die Satzung (Charter) der Rächer vom
damaligen Autor
Roger Stern erstmals schriftlich festgehalten
und im
Annual #11
veröffentlicht. Das "Dokument" enthält also die
Rechtsvorschriften, denen die Avengers bei ihrem Tun und Handeln
unterliegen. |

Im
Avengers Anniversary Magazine
(11/1993) gab Roger
Stern ein Interview (nachstehend ein Auszug davon), in dem er das
Zustandekommen erläuterte:
"It's been so long, but I remember
that Mark (Gruenwald) gave me a lot of notes to build on -- he asked
me to do it. I'd just taken over as regular scripter on THE
AVENGERS, and there was an annual in the works. They wanted to run a
feature on the Charter in the back -- it was time to spell things
out. Mark had already done a lot of research into the thing, so I
took his notes and added 'my' two cents.
...
You see, any
organization, for various legal purposes, has to have a charter that
sets out their goals -- what they intend to do. The specifics of how
those goals are to be met are spelled out in the bylaws. That's what
the piece in the AVENGERS ANNUAL was to be about.

It
allows the Avengers to be recognized as a legally-founded
organization, for purposes of cooperating with other, established,
law-enforcement organizations: the New York Police Department,
Interpol, the FBI -- not to mention dealing with goverments, the
United Nations, whoever." |

Roger Stern war zwischen Januar 1983 und Dezember 1987 der
Hauptautor der Avengers-Serie; für mich ist er der letzte der
wirklich guten "alten" Autoren, die die Serie hatte. Höhepunkt
seines fünfjährigen Schaffens ist dabei ohne Zweifel die
"UNDER SIEGE"-Storyline, zu der ich
hier eine
(kurze) Rezension schrieben habe. |
